But what happens when the sun goes down for the season and the smoke and mirrors turn into sewer grate smoke and broken glass?
If our last project with ASICS helped define the optimism of the world opening up during Spring/ Summer, our latest collaboration is an ode to the underbelly of Fall/Winter when a city’s true character permeates.
Featuring ASIC’s latest model, the GEL-NYC, which combines the best of the 2000’s GEL-NIMBUS 3, GEL-CUMULUS 16, and MC-PLUS, the key to translating unwavering pride for our city into sneaker form was tapping into references not often brought up in design conversations. From materials inspired by gritty textures like barbed wire and chain link fences to colors referencing the glow of street lights and neon signs, sometimes the most accurate portrayals occur ‘after dark’.
