You’ve seen the four part documentary on Showtime. You own all their records and most of their solo projects-- let’s be honest, it’d nearly impossible to collect them all. Now it’s time to update your Wu wardrobe and Clarks collection with the freshest new Wallabees on the market.
The Clarks Wallabee is one of the most rapped about styles of footwear in hip-hop history, and thanks in large part to the Wu Tang Clan. Ghostface alone mentions them constantly. One of his most famous and concentrated mentions of the shoe appears in the skit at the beginning of “Glaciers of Ice,” on Raekwon’s 1995 album, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. It was here where the Wu first went from just name-dropping the shoe in their rhymes to hinting at designing their own version of Wallabees where “dyed cream on top” drips “like it’s marble cake.”
Twenty-four years later and this lyrical premonition has finally become a reality. Marking the third collaboration between Clarks and WuWear, these limited edition “marble cake” colorways are made from nubuck uppers, constructed with full leather trim and lining with signature crepe soles proudly underfoot. Co-branded fobs and footbeds finish off the project like a cherry on top.
