For their 60th anniversary in 2009, Adidas highlighted somewhat lesser known, and historically significant silhouettes from the vast expanses of the three stripes archive with special edition, individual decade focused Era Packs. A decade later, Adidas has revived the Era Pack concept.
This time around, the Era Pack centers around inspiration, rather than historical reproduction, as two silhouettes, the Ozweego and the new LXCON, show off their 90s pedigrees.
As a staple in the Raf Simons Adidas diffusion line, 1998’s Ozweego is no stranger to fashionable reinterpretations. With the Era Pack, minimalist influences are applied to the tech running roots of the original Ozweego, resulting in an overall streamlining of the silhouette, as the wavy, chunky Adiprene sole are paired with a breathable mesh upper featuring suede and TPU overlays.
The distinctive plastic piping and nylon strap construction of the LXCON wears its 90s influence on its sleeve, as the lightweight mesh upper is outfitted in a neon green and black gradient colorway.
