4/5/19: Asics Gel x Sneakerwolf Kayano Trainer

Release Info: Available Now

Japanese artist Sneakerwolf collaborates with Asics to introduct a unique rendition of the Asics Gel Kayano Trainer inspired by the Edo period in Japanese history. The Edo period is a period between 1603 and 1868, when Japan was under rule of the Tokugawa shogunate. The shogunate forbid ordinary people to experience luxury in any way which included glossy materials and certain colors. The idea behind the design was to create a sneaker that goes against the rule of the shogunate, which boasts bold colors such as Purple, Red and Gold throughout the shoe. Dubbed the 'Anarchy in the Edo Period', the white and Purple mesh/leather upper is highlighted with an eye-catching flame graphic. Additional details seen include a translucent ASICS caging, a Black outsole alongside hits of red to solidify the fire theme.
