You know that scene when Dorothy takes the tornado Uber from Kansas or something and she lands in Oz and everything switches from black and white to color, becoming one of the most historically significant scenes in cinematography to date? Well yeah, we wanted to do that but for like sunglasses. Oh and spoiler alert.

With the Bodega X Oakley BXTR Metal we use our first collab with the Big O to provide the key to a new world. One that has been hidden in plain sight all along.

Led by Oakley's Prizm Lens Technology which hones in on a specific color spectrum to focus your field of vision, throwing on our glasses translates to more confidence when juking squirrels in the park, evading pigeon droppings on the street, or dodging those silly sidewalk scooters.

After all, it’s no accident that the moment you put these on, you start taking 2 steps at a time on the stairs, dunking trash in trash cans, and racing through the city like you're representing Team USA at the relays.

With a design that screams forward motion, its continuous lean puts you in a certain frame of mind with Bodega and Oakley etching below the surface serving as watermarks of approval. Thanks to the angular, one-piece Prizm Lens Technology with a BiO-Matter® frame - gold flash, mini horns, and all - whether seen head-on or from the side, this setup never quits. But it could fall over, that is, if it weren’t for its metal trigger stems.

Cemented in a clear brown plastic base, with throwback Oakley branding engraved in an olive panel and some etching of our own up top, the stems of our BXTRs are held together with a safety pin-like design that is somehow more punk than you'd expect. Creating the focal point of the arm, this mid-section challenges our expectations for what a functioning piece of hardware can be and stays angular through the finish line with a pink padded ear hook.

But what’s the design of our dreams without the colorway to back it up? Featuring an eclectic combination that gives primary colors the night off, it’s all about the connection between the offbeat and the unexpected. Combining vibrant, rich in-between shades of purple and pink with glowing orange edges, it’s like the visor is in the process of blooming, at all times. Complimented by brownish mid-century accents, you might think it difficult to represent BodegaVision through a color palette but if you ask us, it just depends on what lens you're looking through.

And for those brief moments of downtime between trips and transit, the 'O' branded hard case and color-coordinated topographic bag and box combo act as an all-encompassing entourage ready to keep your BXTRs safe no matter what life throws your way.
