A Closer Look: Bodega Spring/Summer '23 Delivery #02
Take a step outside. Isn't it beautiful? The birds are chirping, the flowers are chirping, the trees…are… chirping...? Huh, we must be hallucinating from late-stage Spring fever after being cooped inside for way too long.
Whether already feeling the scorching heat of peak summer or living under the threat of snow and freezing temps, the great thing about this time of the year is it feels like there is literally no in-between depending on where you live. Either you're boiling alive or need to be chipped from a block of ice. You’re really about to tap out and move into a temperature-controlled storage unit. But then all of a sudden, it hits. That perfect temperate climate. Delivery #02 is that feeling turned into a versatile drop - a wearable olive branch that provides clothes you can live in, no matter the frantic day-to-day temps.
Batting lead-off is the Sports Polo made from a classic cotton pique. Featuring a 4 count ‘em 4 tone design, the Polo references the boxy polo popular in the 80s and 90s but with a few tricks up its cuffed sleeves. In addition to its raglan construction, multi-chest pocket, and back stash pocket, this shirt features a quarter zip design to keep ease of motion front of mind. With its sport-infused aesthetic, there is no limit to what it can do.
But even the best of cut and sew items need a laundry day every once in a while. And with a fleet of 5 new tees by its side, there shouldn’t be an issue filling in, in its absence. From summer hoop and runs to the local post office to the rare -or not-so-rare trip to the bodega for a scratchy...or 6, now is the time to get out and be active. And no matter what form that takes, we support it and hopefully, our t-shirts can help encourage it. Coming in shades spanning from Cream to True Blue balanced with the go-to Black and White, no matter what you’re in the mood for, we got you.
Locking it down are 3 pairs of shorts meant to cover all the bases. The first is the Nylon Shorts in a Dusty Plum. Made in coordination with the Packable Anorak in Del #01, these shorts feature a drawstring waist, rectangular cut pockets, and embroidered plus screen-printed Bodega branding. Sure to add an athletic contrast to our cotton tees, these shorts are a no-brainer for laid-back days that flip the switch to adventure at a moment’s notice. Shout out the back patch pocket for your phone!
Following right on its split hem are the Serif Nylon Shorts in Black which channel the energy of the Plums but in a more incognito colorway allowing that lowercase embroidery on the left leg to get plenty of air time.
Providing some union laborer energy are the Work Shorts in a Reverse Hickory fabrication. As if cutting up a pair of old railroad overalls or painter pants, these shorts are top-tier functionality featuring a myriad of carpenter-centric pockets. However, it’s that fatigue-inspired front-right pocket that elevates the design to new scaffolded heights. Finished with a hammer loop and custom workwear tag out back, have no fear, these shorts can carry a day’s worth of gear and hold up under high stress.
Closing out the drop is the Nylon Activo Cap which ties together any look while keeping you protected from any unnecessary shine. This running-style hat comes in a 5-panel design with mesh vents to keep you cool. Adjustable thanks to a nylon web with clip closure, between your June 1st buzz and your September flow, this thing can keep up with the luscious locks or lack thereof. Closed out with the Yellow Bodega stamp of approval, we must be UPS because once again we have delivered the goods.
