In their second season working together, Mark McNairy and the Bodega team provide a series of shoes that put a unique twist on some footwear classics.
Featuring two pairs of Mark’s traditional Long Wings and a pair of the newly introduced Wing Saddle silhouette, this project resulted from a single meeting between Bodega’s Leo Pagkaliwangan and Mr. McNairy himself. At Capsule Las Vegas 2011, the two were able to sit down to discuss the collaboration. Born from the combination of their creative minds, the end products truly bring out the tones and imagery of the quintessential Bodega aesthetic.
The first Long Wing is made from brown snuff suede finished off with a leopard print paneling, all sitting on the McNairy signature brick red sole. In the second Long Wing, we tried to retain a similar motif, but made some changes that would show a different side of Bodega. The shoe sports a Ridgeway red outsole with a loden green suede wingtip and a woodland camouflage panel – giving the shoe an authentic Bodega feel. Finally, the custom Wing Saddle features a brown pebbled leather brogue and saddle complete with digi-desert camouflage panels on the body, all resting on a beautiful white Vibram Christy outsole.
The shoes are available both in-store and online.
